2. The first soda that has ever been made was invented by accident in Detroit, Michigan. The name of the soda pop was Vernor’s Ginger Ale.

3. Henry Ford lived in Michigan in 1893, eventually creating the Ford company in 1903.I was looking for more information and found it here. This gained Detroit the name of “The Motor City” and is the car capital of the world.

4. Michigan’s Great Lakes are labeled as one-fifth of the worlds fresh water.

5. One of the largest suspension bridges in the world is in the state of Michigan. The Mackinac Bridge spans five miles across the Straits of Mackinac. This bridge was opened in 1957 after 3 years of construction.

6. Dry cereal was created in Michigan making the state the cereal capital of the world. The Kellogg brothers were the first people to make flaked cereal by accident. After they discovered cereal they created the Kellogg cereal company.
